IEQL research selected by NASA for space biology research

Research currently being undertaken by Dr. Karen Dannemiller and student researchers in the Indoor Environmental Quality Laboratory (IEQL) has been chosen by NASA for grant funding as part of the agency's Space Biology Program.

The project, Humidity and microbial growth in International Space Station dust (HUMID), continues work concerning microbial growth at varying realtive humidity levels that the research group is already undertaking.

In a press release, NASA announced the 29 grant recipients who submitted proposals for both ground-based and flight research investigations that will increase NASA’s understanding of how living systems acclimate to spaceflight to support human space exploration and promote scientific discovery.

The IEQL will post further updates on the project as research progesses.
